The theme of this session was: “The Herb Garden of the Ideal City.” The 2008 session was coordinated in collaboration with the design team from EDF (the French national electricity provider) who took part in leading the workshop by sharing their impressions and attending the project presentation.

5 teams defined 5 innovative concepts:
- “So Dark” proposed a sensory trip by enabling users to experience lack of light;
- “In Da Flow” gave concrete expression to electrical networks by lighting them up;
- “Glo” used collectively generated energy and light to boost social interaction
- “House of the Rising Sun” gathered a set of solutions to retrieve natural light;
- “Vitrail” came up with a reflection about light seen as a media conveying information and a tool for public and private spaces to interact.

An observers’ team kept track of the processes implemented by working groups with a view to evaluating the impact of the industrial partner’s intervention on the creative process. This analysis will be published in a booklet to be released in October 2008.
